Our presenters

Dr Tara Speranza, PhD

Tara Speranza has over two decades of experience in academia and medical research, with a focus on novel molecular targets for endocrine-controlled musculoskeletal disease. Tara's research at the University of Sydney and the University of Geneva garnered awards, grants, and a successful commercial partnership with pharmaceutical company Servier.

Following her successful academic career, Tara was employed as a biotech and healthcare sell-side analyst at Bell Potter Securities. She was subsequently recruited by Andrew Forrest’s private health tech fund, Tenmile, as an expert Investment Analyst, building and managing a diversified portfolio of biotech and healthcare investments.

Bridie Mulholland, PhD

Bridie is a proud Aboriginal academic and an Assistant Professor (Senior Lecturer) in First Nations Health at Bond University. She has worked in a number of diverse positions within research and higher education and has not taken the traditional PhD-post doc pathway to academia. Bridie conferred her PhD in 2021, first working in professional roles before transitioning into academic positions in late 2022. Bridie worked as a Level B across the University of Wollongong and the University of Sydney for 12 months before landing a Level C position at Bond University.
