2025 AuPS Meeting Home Parramatta: Travel and Accommodation
Parramatta Parramatta is located in the heart of Western Sydney. One of Australia’s oldest settlements situated on the traditional lands of the Burramattagal people of the Darug Nation, who inhabited the area for thousands of years. Established in 1788 as a vital agricultural centre, in the late 1980's it transformed from a largely industrial area into a vibrant urban hub with a diverse population of over 250,000. With convenient transport links, spacious open parkland, historic buildings and bustling city centre, Parramatta is often referred to as "Sydney's second CBD". |
Getting There and Away Transport to and from the airport Parramatta is approximately 30km from the Sydney Domestic terminal. Taxi and ride share Taxis and ride shares cost between $85-100 from the airport to Parramatta and take approximately 30 minutes. Rail Both the airport and Parramatta are serviced by rail. The one hour trip costs approximately $28. Take the train to central and change. |
Conference Venue Western Sydney Parramatta City Campus Peter Shergold Building Getting to and from the conference The Peter Shergold building is located in Parramatta Square, directly outside Parramatta rail station and Parramatta Square light rail. The light rail connects the conference centre to surrounding hotels and places of interest including restaurants along Church Street and Riverside, and the historic Parramatta Park. |
