Ordinary membership

Eligibility

Normally be expected to hold a recognised higher degree in a discipline related to the professional interests of the Society and to have a documented achievement in research and/or a significant record of tertiary teaching in their discipline.

Cost

AU$150/yr for Australian residents
AU$300/3 years
AU$60 for permanent or temporary (>1 year) overseas residency

Note: Members who retire may retain their membership for no ongoing cost upon informing the Society.

Student membership

Eligibility

Undertaking an Honours or post-graduate degree in a relevant discipline.

Benefits of Student Membership

Eligibile for Student Prizes, Student Grants, and Travel Grants.
Reduced attendance fees for the Society's scientific meetings.

Cost: AU$100 for student membership until the completion of your degree.

Note: Student members are not voting members of the Society

Membership subscription information

Membership status: When your subscription becomes due, you will be notified by email, indicating the correct sum to pay to renew. You can check on your subscription status along with your other membership details by logging into the Member Area.

Changing your membership level: If you wish to change your membership level, e.g., Ordinary to Ordinary (3 years), go to your profile in the Member Area, and select 'Change' next to your current membership level. Note, you are unable to change your membership level by following the link to renew your membership.

Payment: When paying your subscription via the membership portal you will be re-directed to a secure WestPac payment site.

Re-joining following lapsed membership: If you have previously been an AuPS member but this has lapsed (i.e., not paid membership fees for >2 years), you are required to pay arrears of 1-year membership fee (see Clauses 3.6 and 3.7 of Constitution).
