The full program will be available in early October. A highlight of the conference will be the Student/ECR workshop to be held on Monday afternoon with our guest speaker Dr Darren Saunders. As always, a workshop will be held for the Education stream of the conference.
STUDENT/ECR WORKSHOP Guest Speaker Dr Darren Saunders Office of the Chief Scientist and Engineer Title TBC Dr Saunders remarkable career serves as an inspiration to students and early career researchers wondering where their journey will take them. With opportunities in traditional academic and research careers seemingly ever more difficult to attain, this workshop is an incredible opportunity broaden your career horizons from the experience of Dr Saunders in his traditional academic and media communications career. Darren is a Eureka Prize winning scientist and brilliant science communicator. Darren is a regular commentator on television and radio, and resident scientist on ABC TV’s The Drum and Channel 7’s Daily Edition. He is currently NSW Deputy Chief Scientist & Engineer and Executive Director of the Office of the NSW Deputy Chief Scientist & Engineer, and Adjunct Associate Professor in Medical Sciences at the University of Sydney. Darren has over 20 years’ academic and industrial experience in cancer biology and neuroscience in Australia and North America.
